Due to the storm this past week, all FARMSTEAD ARTS events scheduled for this weekend, November 5-6 have been postponed and rescheduled. Photography 11 will open next weekend, November 12-13. Exhibit hours will be from 1-5 pM on Saturday, November 12 and 1-4 PM on Sunday, November 13. The Holiday Boutique and Artists Reception on Saturday, November 12 will be open from 1-5 PM as scheduled. Photography 11 will be open Saturdays and Sundays 1-4 PM November 12-27. Holiday Family Portraits with photographer Hilary Klimek is rescheduled for Sunday, November 13 from 1-4 PM. Additional sittings will be available during after school hours the week of Nov 14-18 by appointment only. Stories & Art will Master Storyteller Linda Howe originally scheduled for Sunday, October 30 has been changed to Sunday, December 11 from 2-4 PM. The event has been changed.
Howe will tell the true holiday story of Emily the Cow, who escaped from a slaughterhouse by jumping a gate, eluding capture for 40 days aided by an ad hoc underground railroad of townspeople until Christmas.
The storytelling will include an art project, making a likeness of Emily out of recycled materials, who will be kept at the Farmstead “stables”.
The cost is $10 for adults and children. $5 for seniors and children 5 and under.
